Who Are We ?
We want a better place, a country and world devoted to fulfilling a dream of equality, opportunity, brother- and sisterhood, respect, tolerance and compassion.

Beyond simply wanting these things we believe in leading our lives by example and do what we can to promote a better country and world for all of us to share. Thus, we are committed to good global citizenship. We understand that natural resources are finite, and we agree to try to go gently upon the earth, not in our Hummer's, but hopefully in our fuel-efficient cars, hybrids, or mass-transit, carpools, biking or walking. We turn off our TV's and read (except, perhaps when the Lakers are in the playoffs!). We analyze domestic and international news from diverse sources, not simply Fox News or a Clear Channel source. We vote, even when forced with the choice of the lesser of two evils. Some of us, understanding the resources required to raise animals for food, and the treatment of those animals have made the decision to become vegans or vegetarians. We instill in our children, and those around respect for other people and cultures.

What do we (
generally) believe ?

We are tired of picking up the paper and reading about another example of man's inhumanity to each other. We believe every child born, anywhere should have:

  • Safe Food and Drinking Water.
  • Clothing for warmth.
  • Shelter.
  • Education.
  • Medical Care.
  • Equal access to Justice.
  • Equal opportunity to provide for self and family.
  • Clean air and environment.
  • Freedom from violence or threat.
  • Respect, tolerance and compassion regardless of race, gender, beliefs, orientation, nationality or culture.
  • Respect for our planet and the finite resources it offers us.

Why
generally ?

We do not ask that our community blindly accept our majority perspective on all issues. We recognize that our only possibility for success is through sheer volume of actively voting membership, in every future election. Thus, if you embrace most of our beliefs, we open our arms to you. As we evolve, a majority of our coalition may believe in our fundamental principles, but disagree on the best manner to implement them. We want to include all people (or as many as we can!) We would rather forge a general agreement on all or most of our principles, join hands and walk together than to be the 100-year argument over implementation, while nothing gets done!

What do you mean, 100 Year March ?
Patience!
I don't expect to be able to complete the march, or more appropriately, journey. My wish is that future generations of all of ours will complete it and continue the journey on our behalf. In order to affect the fundamental changes that are necessary for our society, and sustain those changes, it will take time and many elections here in America. Despite the fact that we are a "we want it now" culture, we must have patience, be determined through setbacks and be diligent.

How do you measure success ?
Our success depends on each and every one of you.  By becoming a member and actively voting in each election, our ability to offset the money that special interest groups contribute to our elected officials will increase over time. Patience and commitment is an absolute requirement for us as we would not expect to greatly influence immediate change in our leadership (as much as we would like to).  For example, if our community represented membership of 20 million active voters, our ability to realize and sustain our vision is very possible. If we work together and our community grows, we can take our country back!

The Future of the 100 Year March
We will provide links to your elected officials, their respective voting records and will (attempt) to assist with candidate selection that adhere (or commit to adherence) with our vision. We will provide feedback to the elected officials and grade them in accordance to their voting records. We want everyone to become more involved in the democratic process. We want you to elect officials based upon their representation of your/our vision, not who has the best or most commercials.
